Black and White Hearts

Tonight we went to dinner at K Town for Mark's family birthday dinner. Dinner was delicious, I had scallops and risotto.  Then for dessert, the most delicious cheesecake I have ever had. Seriously, it was amazingg.

Any who, I picked up this black and white peter pan collar dress at Charlotte Russe this week. It has hearts on it and it was on sale thankyouverymuch. I paired it with a black blazer from H&M, black pumps from Payless and my favorite Coach bag. How would you accessorize this dress??

Type Pop

While browsing on Refinery 29 today I came across a fun new photo editor, Type Pop. Upload a picture and chose from a few different word options like "nom nom nom", "oh, hi", "super cute" etc. It's free, super easy and links your edited pictures directly to Facebook or gives you a link for your blog. Once they allow you to add your own phrases and they accept larger file sizes this site will be even more user friendly!

Pitch Perfect

I was lucky enough to see an advanced screening of Pitch Perfect last week and let me tell you, it was HILARIOUS! Along the same lines as Bridesmaids with the all female main cast and slapstick and sometime gross out humor all while playing on the popularity of Glee/Mean Girls.

Seriously, watch this trailer and tell me it's not funny...

Weekend At Home

This past weekend I went home, to the middle of nowhere, western MD. Cousins came and we went antiquing, painted up some furniture for their new apartment and went to a street fair. Here are some photos from over the weekend (taken with instagram).

Oh, and my cousins got a hedgehog, his name is sandwich and he is ADORABLE.

Brainfood Grill-Off

Last Thursday Mark and his company competed in an Iron Chef like challenge called the Brainfood Grill-Off, benefitting Brainfood, a youth development organization in DC. A group of us went downtown to support Mark and the cause.

The event was held outdoors under some tents and it was a gorgeous night. Once we checked in we hit the buffet (which had mini sprinkles cupcakes - YUM) and the bar. Then we visited all of the different teams and tried out their dishes. Obviously my favorite was Mark's teams dish; steak over corn salsa and shitake mushrooms with a delicious thyme/butter sauce. Seriously, it was TDF, I may have had three servings...

Anyway, Mark's team somehow didn't win, but it was a fun night overall, here are some pictures (sorry for the red eye, I only had my iPhone handy).
